If I have my blog readers pegged correctly, then half of you will know who The Eckerts are. For those who don’t, The Eckerts were my Young Life leaders in high school. Sandy had the distinct pleasure for four years of having me flood her with with nonsense and questions, inappropriateness and eventually gratefulness. My senior year of high school, I gave my testimony at the Northwest Houston banquet and at the end of it, I said “If I become even a fraction of what my leaders are to me, I’ll be happy.” I still believe that. I’ve remained close with the Eckerts post high school, and Sandy and I realized the other day that we’ve known each other for 10 years!
The shoot started with some portraits of Sandy and Ashley (the other leader YL leader that belongs in the quote above). If you know anything about the story of Mark and I, then you know that Ashley’s husband Matt is Mark’s best friend, and the two of them are pretty much responsible for setting Mark and me up. Sandy and Ashley are the owners of Striking Stems floral design and wanted photos for their website. Who knew 10 years ago that we’d be working together at the same weddings, and go on triple dates? God’s plans fascinate me! Anyways, the session quickly got the feel of a “couple” session/cheesy senior portrait session, mixed with a few good ones that worked. Here’s what I mean…

Then it was on to the Eckerts. Josh’s family came out for some family photos all together as well as some shots with the kids. Adam + Anna + their aunt (Josh’s sister)

With their great grandma!

Regardless of the fact that it wouldn’t have matched, I wish I had Anna wear these shoes when she was my flower girl! I want them in my size.

Cotton headed ninny muggins…

Sometimes I like a little blur, especially when Anna is attacking Sandy.

Adam…adorable as always…

Oh, Anna…

Owe!! These last two are my favorites

Come back tomorrow to see Isaac and Cristina’s wedding!
