oops, something did not work right. try again!

House Tour :: Part 2

You can go on the first house tour here, pre furniture. Today, I’ll show you the living room and kitchen, post furniture! Things still aren’t 100% complete, but people want are requesting photos, and I give the people what they want.

I am beyond obsessed with our blue chair! The couch is not complete yet because we’re still shopping for the right pillows. If you have any ideas of where to find them, comment! We want bright colors because the main focus of our living room (a secret that I’ll share once we get it) is super colorful! I seriously can’t wait to share it, but you’ll have to wait.

The armoire on the top right was a CraigsList find. $100 for that amazing antique! It’s our bar and extended kitchen drawers :) And did you know that Mark build our kitchen table? Because he did!

Some favorite things in our kitchen/amazing antique store finds! The plant/tin in the middle will soon be together, once I find cactus soil! A fun fact about me is that, for no reason, I’m obsessed with all things nautical. I love sailboats, anchors, ropes, etc. I bought Sperry’s back before you could find them at every store just because they were sailing shoes. So, knowing that, you can imagine my excitement when I found the middle and bottom left tins!

To switch to a completely unrelated topic, something else about me is that I think Sigur Rós makes the most beautiful music in the world. So you can imagine my excitement when I found out Jónsi, the guitarist and vocalist, is putting out a solo album (to be released March 22, 2010). Click here to download the song “Boy Lilikoi” from the album! It’s free! And amazing.

Alyssa - !. I'm jealous you get to eat there... next time make a reservation for 4 and I'll make a trip on over. 2. ETSY is your place for pillows... they even have them with bikes! 3. Love your house.. makes me want out of this apartment and your hubby made quite the awesome kitchen table. I'll be calling for one when we move and have a place for a table other than a coffee table.December 13, 2009 - 11:06 pm

Vana - Even if Mark had not made it, your table is my favorite thing hands down. The other stuff is crazy awesome too though. On another note, pillows. I got sick of looking for good pillows within our price range, so I finally bought material. I don't know if you know how to sew, but a friend of yours in Colorado does. See... http://vanaand.blogspot.com/2009/10/tuesday-september-29-2009.html. I know that the style you see in the pic is not what you want for you house, but I'll keep my eye out for greatness. peace.December 14, 2009 - 9:59 pm

Vana - http://www.annamariahorner.com/productfabric.html Not all of it is good for you, but check the Drawing Room fabrics abougt 3/4 of the way down. http://www.annamariahorner.com/productfabric.html okay, ignore the flowers and the homemade tunic in the picture and click on the lines of fabrics. that's all I have for now. :)December 14, 2009 - 10:07 pm
