“Praise the Lord, the south has risen again!” - Sweet Home Alabama
It’s true. Mark and I are movin’ south!! And east…to Georgia! As you might have seen a few weeks ago, we traveled to Florida and Georgia for interviews. Well, Mark interviewed, I just sat there and looked nice and got free meals.
Some people might think we’re crazy for wanting to leave Colorado, but even before we got married we talked about how we’d jump on an opportunity if one presented itself in the southeast. We love the climate, the beauty, the people, the food, the sweet tea, all of it. When we got to Jasper, GA (about an hour north of Atlanta), we fell in love immediately. Even more love was had when we arrived to Young Life’s Sharptop Cove, where Mark just accepted the Guest Services III position. We loved the camp itself, the staff, the overall feel…to say the least, it was a fit! While in Seattle we got the call that Mark got the job and we were jubilant!! As if all the reasons already listed aren’t enough to make us excited, there’s more. Allison (yup, this one) will be only a 4 hour drive from me! And Tig (you know the one) will be about 3.5 hours. Ultimate FOR.THE.WIN!
Our move date isn’t set in stone yet, but when it is I’ll be making another announcement regarding photo opportunities in Houston! I’ve already planned that I’ll be driving through Houston for at least a week which means I’m going to open some spots for photo sessions. If that sounds like something you might be interested in, shoot me an email or check back real soon for the dates!
Here are some photos I snapped on our last day at Sharptop Cove to give you a feel. It was a cloudy day, and you can expect me to go on photoventures when we get there, but this will do for now! It’s safe to say Young Life properties aren’t too shabby a place to work! Mark is a lucky man.

Come back to the blog tomorrow to get a taste of our trip to Portland!
